Jay Wisniewski

Owner, Chef
Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers.

“I have been very fortunate to earn a living through my true passion,” says Wisniewski. “Over 15 years of owning my own restaurant has taught me so much about myself, my style, and how to share this excitement with guests. Each new menu and wine list shows me that there is absolutely nothing I would rather do.”

Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jay worked along side his Polish grandmother in the kitchen. He began his professional culinary career at the age of fourteen, starting “at the bottom” and learned as he went along. Jay has traveled throughout Europe after obtaining a Bachelor of Finance and Economics from Florida State University where he was influenced by Cajun and Creole cuisine.

Many of his recipes come straight from Italy and other countries in Europe as well as Croatia where the Wisniewski’s have several relatives and their own summer home. Jay has spent many hours in the kitchen with local chefs, sharing fine wine and learning the secrets of what makes their local specialties just that – special!

His eclectic menu consists of Mediterranean, Slavic, Asian and Cajun preparation. It only took a couple of months until the word got out, and his innovative Caffe became a hit. His restaurant has won many awards from “Best Italian Restaurant in the Southwest Valley” to “Best Restaurant for a First Date” to “Best Dessert in Tempe”… and not to leave out many positive reviews by the Arizona Republic and New Times. Jay has also made appearances on KTVK Channel 3’s “Good Morning Arizona” and has participated in many valley epicurean events.

Come see today how Jay’s passion for food and wine can make your dining experience memorable.
